I had to develop a tool where I was supposed to extract specific data from a log file. The log file was really big. More than 2 million lines.

I was using ELK stack with Filebeat. My setup was like, I was having my log files on one server and ELK stack on another remote server.

server1 - Log files with Filebeat installed.
server2 - ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana installed.

I was parsing my log files using Filebeat and sending those logs to Logstash using Filebeat with Logstash having configuration as shown -

Kibana is very helpful in creating visualizations of the data in Elasticsearch indecis. Kibana makes it easy to understand large volumes of data. Its simple, browser-based interface enables you to quickly create and share dynamic dashboards that display changes to Elasticsearch queries in real time.

ELK stands for ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana.
